Ron Shuffield


Ron Shuffield is president & CEO of Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell Realtors® (EWM), a 48 year-old general real estate brokerage firm with 10 offices in South Florida.  EWM also is the South Florida exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate (CIRE), a division of the Christie’s Art Auction House based in London.  Ron has been a member of the international advisory board of CIRE since 2001.  As a part-owner of EWM since 1984, he sold EWM in 2003 to HomeServices of America, Inc., an affiliate of Berkshire HathawayEWM has 800 associates and staff members who are involved in $2.0 billion of South Florida real estate service transactions annually. 

In addition to being responsible for the day-to-day operations of EWM, Ron is also involved in the South Florida civic community.  He is a member of the Executive Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, as well as an Executive Board member of the Beacon Council, Miami-Dade’s economic development agency.  He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Coral Gables since 1984 and he has also served as chairman of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce and the Coral Gables Community Foundation

He is a past recipient of the Robert B. Knight Outstanding Citizen Award for his involvement in the Coral Gables Community.  He was also honored in 2003 as an inductee into the South Florida Business Hall of Fame by The Florida Council on Economic Education, and he was selected in 2010 as one of Miami’s “Ultimate CEOs. 

Some of his other responsibilities focus on Florida International University and Baptist Health -- where he serves as a member of The FIU Foundation Board of Directors and the Baptist Health South Florida Board of Trustees. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Doctors Hospital, Baptist Outpatient Services and Baptist Health Enterprises.

Ron is a 1973 graduate of the University of Tennessee and he has also been a member of the University Baptist Church in Coral Gables since 1976, where he is a past chairman of Deacons. He and his wife, Anita, live in Pinecrest, Florida and they have three grown children.
